The Old Fort LSD Board of Education will host a Special Board meeting tomorrow, October 27, 2022, at 7:30 AM in the Board Office. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and take action on employment. Thank you!

It was a sight unseen before last night… Old Fort vs. Old Fort in Rec Center flag football. Only a six point difference separated this great group of friends! Shout out to Sixth Grade teacher, Mr. Eberly, for not missing the biggest showdown in Fifth & Sixth Grade history.

What a race! K-3 Girls took 2nd in the elementary cross country race tonight to finish out the season. 4-6 Boys and Girls took 2nd for their race! Way to finish strong! Also a shout-out to Stevie Baker who finished in 31st place at the Elementary State Girls Race in Dublin on Sunday! Looks like we’re building a strong future for Coach Miller!

In these pics, the 6th graders were completing part of their lesson in the Amplify ELA "Evidence" app. Students were demonstrating how to evaluate a claim based on the evidence that it supports, or doesn't support. After they found all of their evidence, their theories about the origins of the Yellow Fever were put to the test in a digital "tug of war." The 6th graders learned how reading like an investigator is important and that scientific theories are proven by finding the best evidence

The 2nd Graders ended their study of Fairy Tales and Tall Tales with a dress-up day! What great Characters!

On Oct. 13th, the Elementary held its first Kader of the Quarter assembly. During this assembly we honored students who were nominated by various staff members from classroom teachers to bus drivers to principals. Each student was given a certificate with reason why they were nominated and who nominated them. Students also received a goody bag sponsored by Carmeuse and a sign to display in their front yard. For this first quarter, staff were looking for students who "Feel the Pride!" Examples of this could be picking up trash on the bus, always being prepared for class or students who are courteous to peers. We are so proud of our student and look forward to next quarter where we will recognize students who "Opt for Wise Choices."

Ohio House of Representatives member, Gary Click, spent some time at Old Fort Local Schools yesterday. He was entertained by second grade jokes, shared leadership wisdom with TLC, and enjoying learning about FFA and Voag opportunities for kids at Old Fort.

Good evening! The Winter Sports Athlete/Parent Meeting will be on Monday, October 24 at 7 PM in the high school auditorium. Coaches will have team meetings immediately afterward. Please plan to attend if you are participating in junior high basketball, high school basketball, or bowling.

Tonight's OHSAA Sectional Semi-Final volleyballgame at Old Fort vs Emmanuel Christian has a start time of 6:00. Doors open at 5:00. XC SBC’s: Also impressive runs today by Daniel Steyer (2nd place), Chase Harrison (3rd place), and Macie Miller (1st place by over 2 minutes).

Old Fort takes the triple crown 👑 at today’s XC SBC’s. 1st place finishes for HS Girls, HS Boys, and JH Boys. HS Boys beat Gibsonburg by 1 pt. Shout out to Heath Lemons for holding his spot when a Golden Bear was on his Kader tail in the final 100 yards. A proud day for sure!

Our 4th Graders had the honor of visiting the Tiffin Heritage Festival on Sept. 16th. They were able to tour the "Living Village" and learn about our past history.

Our 4th Grade learned about Flag Etiquette from Local Veterans. We are very proud of how they "Honored the Fort", our country and our guests. Thank you To the Veterans who took time out of their day to help educate our students!
